It’s that time of the year where we all need to step back, evaluate and yes ladies, treat ourselves. With April just round the corner we are on the brink of Spring. New Years resolutions may be well out the window and the stresses of work and everyday life may be getting the better of us.
So we headed out to one of the UK’s leading spa’s to unwind and relax. It’s the perfect Mother’s day treat and to try it out, I took my Mother-in-law to be on a Girls Day Out at Champney’s in Enfield!
Almost 90 years old, The Champney’s brand was founded by Stanley Lief in 1925. So it is no doubt that they are experts when it comes to wellbeing. Whether you choose a luxurious Champneys countryside health spa or a day spa in the City, Champney’s ethos is all about helping their clients live life with vitality. So if you’re mum or loved one is wanting some precious me-time, this is the place to unwind.
So we were ready to rock and roll! When we walked in the ambience was all set, serene and tranquil. Everything screams luxury at you, from the product displays to the fresh flowers at the reception desk. Upon arrival you are offered a choice of fruit tea, everything on the herbal spectrum – you can’t really go wrong here.
I was set to have the VIP Package and my mother – in- law would indulge in the Caci Super Anti-Ageing Facial treatment.
Val, My mother-in-law had the Caci Super Anti-Ageing Facial treatment, which she fell in love with. Priced at £75, the treatment lasts for 85 mins. Her beautician genuinely cared about her well-being and the treatment she was giving her. She also took extra time to educate us on the products and went into detail about the treatment and the products used for personal results.
This was followed on by Val’s next treatment, the Champney’s Luxury Manicure. Priced at £38 this treatment lasts for 55 minutes. This involved getting her nails shaped, an exfoliation, cuticle softening and tidying, a relaxing hand and arm massage, heated mitts for deep moisturisation and painting or buffing. Yes ladies! Perfect treat for the women in your life who so often is on her feet, looking after you! She was delighted with it all and left feeling pampered.
Next up was me! I was up for The VIP Package, an all inclusive pampering session that leaves you feeling like a VIP Princess Rockstar! Priced at £150 and lasting for 240 minutes, it includes a Champney’s facial, a Luxury Manicure and Pedicure as well as a Spa Heaven Cocoon which is a top to toe luxurious pampering treatment including an exfoliation, warm body cocoon and foot massage.
I was then taken to my treatment room where I was asked to bare all and get ready for my massage. First up it was the body scrub. Instantly I was relaxed and allured by the fresh smell of citrus. I then had a blush body scrub which was rich in cardamon, coconut fibres and brown sugar. Leaving my skin exfoliated and smelling sweet and fresh.
I was then asked to wash it all off and went straight into the next treatment, here the amazing masseuse would apply a citrus blush body butter. Consisting of Shea butter, cardamon and lemon. This left my skin feeling so mouistured and silky smooth.
We both left feeling relaxed and pampered in every sense. So if it is a Mother-Daughter day out this is the perfect spot this Mothers Day!
