Timeless Trends for Those Aged 50 Plus

July 10th, 2017 / Stephane

It’s hard being a woman. We all want to look stylish and up to date, but there’s so much to keep up on, not to mention that our bodies are all different, and sometimes what is “in” just doesn’t make us look or feel our best. None of these are reasons we can’t all look and feel great though! Check out the timeless fashions and resources below to start your summer off right, looking and feeling beautiful.

Plain with Fancy

Monochromatic colour schemes are always a great choice. Just pick a plain top and bottom in the same colour, lighter shades for longer lines and blacks or dark tones for a slimming effect, throw on your favourite statement accessory, and away you go looking stylish and feeling beautiful.

A Good Foundation

Proper facial care will always be a foundational element of style. It’s of course important to have a good skin care routine, but foundation is also essential to looking bright, fresh and at your best. When looking for a good foundation, make sure whatever you choose includes moisturiser to soften laughter lines, and a good SPF to prevent skin damage. Don’t feel you necessarily have to go for a heavier foundation either. There are many lightweight alternatives available that still provide coverage, but are less likely to clog your pores and cause irritation.

Grey Hair

Grey hair has long been regarded as a sign of the wisdom and grace that comes with age. And so it should be. Not only is it classical, but there is nothing quite like the way grey, silver hair catches the light when a woman moves across a room. Not only do fashion icons Linda Rodin and Carmen Dell’Orefice rock this classic trend, it also has the added bonus of being the hottest thing in town right now, with women of all ages opting to try the stylish, shimmery look.

The Pencil Skirt

This piece is right up there with the little black dress when it comes to staples every woman should have in her closet. The silhouette is a classic that will always be fashionable. The high waist of the pencil skirt is also very flattering and lengthens almost any body type.

Silk Scarves

Silk scarves will never go out of style. They’ve been around forever, but people are always coming up with new ways to wear them. They’re the perfect piece for creating a statement and walking the line between trendy and timeless.

The tips mentioned here don’t need to break the bank. By investing in a few staples, you’ll create a look of effortless elegance – but remember that one of the best ways to look stylish is to feel at ease in your own skin. Make sure that you’re happy with the look that you’ve created and you’ll look incredibly attractive.
