CAMPAIGN: THE DIGNITY PROJECT

June 10th, 2015 / Stephane

We love and completely support the cause that The Dignity Project are putting forward. That every girl and woman should enjoy the freedom to flourish. They are supporting and campaigning for health and education initiatives, we exist to empower women to secure better chances in learning, vocation and life.

Dignity is the state or quality of being worthy of honour or respect. It is one of the primary words in the first article of the universal declaration of human rights.

The Dignity Project would like to help girls in regions and countries who suffer in silence over the lack of menstruation hygiene provision and effective solutions. We campaign to bring awareness through the media, create educational materials and initiate ongoing fundraising ideas.

By supporting girls at 4 different schools in Southern Malawi: Nyezerera, Namphungo, Khombwe and Hope Village. They work in partnership with the African Child Trust, Builders House and GILEP (Girls In Leadership Empowerment Programme).

So how do you get involved? They provide sanitary supplies and solutions, to support girls’ right to an education and value their vocation. We also want to equip and train girls in developing sewing skills to create their own sanitary supplies.

You can Buy a Life Pack for less than £10, which they will send to a support a girl in Malawi. The Life Pack contains recyclable, biodegradable pads that help keep girls in school.

Life Packs are beautifully made and hand-sown by the Days for Girls organisation.

Providing resources is important. Empowering young women to take charge of their own lives is far more significant. Through your giving, we can help invest in programmes and sewing equipment that will teach girls and women to develop their own skills in creating sanitary supplies.

Will you donate to support this vital work? For more information on how to get involved and support the work of The Dignity Project, visit dignityproject.co.uk
