I want to be unshakable! I am so tired of letting circumstance rob me of the peace and belief I have in my heart. I’m tired of being robbed of freedom and I’ve started a ferocious hunt after anything disturbing my inner peace and hope for the future. I desire to persist and be as relentless as a child. I want to share with you all some practical things I’ve set in motion to steady my heart so I can live my best life.

Kill Unhealthy Comparison or Comparison Will Kill You

I believe there is such a thing as healthy and unhealthy comparison. God has a unique purpose for every human being. I believe the human race is as intricately constructed just as the human body, every organ designed with a different function working in tandem causing the organism to thrive in operation. Comparison allows us to recognize our strengths and see the strengths of others. Unhealthy Comparison is the biggest thief of destiny and identity, and a very easy trap to fall into. Self awareness and honor are the most important things to hold onto to avoid unhealthy comparison. If you have little sense of self-worth and awareness, you will never know the gift that you are, or the gifts you have to share with the world. In knowing yourself you are able to understand your natural talents and abilities, and are able to grow and develop them. You can also see where your skill set ends, where another person’s begins therein engaging yourself with others in a beautiful human exchange of cooperation. We have to be careful to do lots of self-reflection and discussion with God in prayer concerning our purpose. In this day and age where we are overwhelmed with so many images of success, we need to know now more than ever why God created us. It is so easy to be distracted by the public success and lives of others, one could potentially spend his or her entire lives pursuing the image of success instead of the path intended for them. A way to avoid discouragement on your journey to self discovery and purpose is to take time to celebrate your accomplishments along the way. I promise you, an active commitment to monitoring your progress with encourage you to keep pressing forward and keep you out of unhealthy comparison. On a side note: Ask God to show you our progress through His eyes, he often views us through different more positive lenses than we do.

A body isn’t really a body, unless there is more than one part. It takes many parts to make a single body. That’s why the eyes cannot say they don’t need the hands. That’s also why the head cannot say it doesn’t need the feet.  (1 Corinthians 12:19-21, Contemporary English Version)

Fight Fear Ferociously

I am learning to refuse fear a place of residence in my life. I heard Willam Paul Young, writer of the book: The Shack say, “Any place you have fear is a place where you don’t really trust God.”  This statement called me out to become what I say I believe. If “perfect love casts out all fear” I had to isolate the areas of my life where I let fear rule, evict him and invite love to come and reside where fear once lived. What I was actually saying to God by allowing fear to rule in certain areas of my life is that I didn’t believe He was the greater than any foe, potential consequence or backlash caused by my obedience to him in pursing my destiny. I have found destiny moments and breakthrough are just waiting for us beyond some of our biggest fears. Most of us are one act of faith away from the greatest breakthrough we’ve ever experienced in out lives.
Lovelies, my prayer for you is when you get low, and fear comes knocking at your door you will invite love, God in and give Him permission to destroy any fear that comes for you and your destiny.

God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won’t stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6, Contemporary English Version)

May your confidence in God and His love for you be greater than the fear of failure.

Acknowledge the gifts of others and aspire to be great, but do not do so at the cost of your own destiny. Dare to live your life with an open and persistent heart. God is faithful and desires to reward you for your faithfulness to him. Steady your heart in God’s honor for his word. When you don’t see my loves, be still and know.

Peace and love, Lovelies.
