London-born fitness movement VOGA™ launches for mums-to-be at Coq d’Argent

To kick off the New Year, City restaurant Coq d’Argent is teaming up with House of Voga to host monthly VOGA MAMA classes. Designed by Juliet Murrell, creator of the fashion-meets-fitness movement VOGA™, this new special class allows mums-to-be to enjoy all the benefits of the original style-charged yoga and vogueing fused workout, in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

After falling pregnant herself, VOGA™ founder and creative visionary Murrell was inspired to create VOGA MAMA to help other expecting mums get fit in the months leading up to the birth.  Catering for the varying comfort levels of each participant, the classes are mostly floor-based with ‘chill out’ options available throughout the routine.

“VOGA MAMA routines hone in on the classic body insecurities of many expectant mums,” says Murrell. “We focus on arm gestures designed to both tone and build a sense of female power, shoulder and neck exercises to release pre-birthing anxiety, thigh and hip opening techniques to strengthen the body for birth, and breath flow to calm the mind and connect with the body at this stressful but exciting time in any expectant mother’s life.”

Classes will be held on the last Sunday of every month in Coq d’Argent’s stunning rooftop garden when the weather is dry and mild, while the heated bar terrace will be used in cold or wet weather.

Confirmed event dates (classes take place 11am – 12pm, and cost £15 per person):

Following the classes, guests can enjoy Coq d’Argent’s delicious vegan menu, served from 12-4pm, and priced at £26pp for two courses, and £29 for three courses. Starters include, Golden and red beetroot salad, black truffle and balsamic vinaigrette; and Tomato salad, basil, black olive dressingand red onions, while main courses such as Wild mushroom and artichoke risotto; and Grilled Provencal vegetables and olives, pine nuts and basil dressing are also available. Desserts include a selection of homemade sorbets and Vanilla poached pineapple and mango sorbet. To drink, guests can choose from a range of mocktails such as the Virgin Apple Mojito and Elderflower Collins.
