The weather was warm and so was the blood coursing through my veins as I tried to calm my pounding heart. “On your mark… Get set… *Pang* with the sound of the gun, I raced to my first competitive victory as a runner. Life is like a race. Some stretches are easier to run than others, but the prize for us all is the same- to accomplish goals in order to become the best we can be. In a race stepping into another person’s lane can mean disqualification, and in this race called life, veering off track could mean forfeiting the greatness inside of us just waiting to be revealed. So how do we, in this competition oriented world, learn to stay in our lane?
Get Low For A Good Start
The key to winning a race is having a good push out of the blocks. Blocks are used to anchor a runner’s feet so they can create momentum at the start of a race. The key to great victory in life begins in getting a great push out of the starting blocks of prayer. In prayer and meditation you receive fuel to passionately pursue your dreams.
Keep Your Focus
The hardest thing to do,while pursuing a goal, is to stay focused on your individual journey towards success. Most of us leave our lane because we are distracted by, obstacles, our failures, or the successes or failures of others. We forget there is a prize waiting at the finish line especially made for us.

What if you’ve lost your way? God will never leave you or give up on you.

Your teacher will be right there, local and on the job, urging you on whenever you wander left or right: “This is the right road. Walk down this road.”
God’s desire is to see you become all He created you to be.
Remember The One Who Sent You
When I’m overwhelmed I go to the one who never fails-God. I remind myself God created everything from nothing, so since God has a track record of making great things from nothing, I can be sure: even though my world looks nothing like my dreams, they can come to exist.
Keep going! God’s nature is not to taunt or tease you with good things He doesn’t intend to give you. Your story may not look like other’s, but it is a great story nonetheless. Be patient, prayerful, get a dream, keep your eyes on the goal and remember the endless power of the God who chose you.
