Seeing the initial release of the 3D hologram vinyl and listening to the panel, in particular Tristan Duke from Infinity Light Science who hand crafted this magnificent record, I realised one thing – he had now taken both technology and the listening experience of the phenomenal score composed by the film music legend John Williams, to a whole new and almost incomprehensible level.

This new release of a double-gatefold 2-LP set on 180-gram vinyl is exclusive in providing an only-on-vinyl 3D Hologram experience. There are 2 designs of the holographic images, both of which were drawn by hand (as you can see above) and the activation of the hologram hovering above your vinyl player is simple: no extra equipment, no extra complications. Simply place a direct beam of light, be it from a lamp or the torch/flashlight on your phone, above the vinyl during playback, and there the holograms will appear before you. As the vinyl turns, so does the image. It’s just fascinating!
The records themselves feature the ‘Millenium Falcon’ on Disc 1 Side B, and TIE fighter on Disc 2 Side B. The vinyl comes from the one and only Walt Disney Records, featuring Direct Metal Mastering (DMM). Furthermore, the Disney Music Group united with Pro-Ject Audio Systems to showcase this incredible, innovative invention on their very own Elemental turntable which holds a sleek, minimalist design as well as proving top-class/high-quality performance.
