FEATURE: PERSONALISED PRINTS: WE LOVE INK & SONS

July 28th, 2014 / Stephane

It’s always exciting to come across a fun and quirky brand! We discovered Ink & Sons on Not On The High Street and fell in love!
Ink & Sons have a range of prints that are vintage, original and contemporary that make gift shopping that much more easier, and a lot more fun.
Whether it’s your hen night, baby shower or your revamped bedroom, their prints for all occasions come in a range of sizes and colours and better yet, allow you to personalise them.

Founded by a husband and wife with a love and passion for vintage matchbox labels and graphics, they have created the perfect range of prints for all occasions. Here are some of the prints we love at Milk & Honey!

We caught up with the masterminds behind the brand! Here’s what they had to say about Ink & Sons.
1. Where does the name Ink & Sons come from?

The name Ink & Sons was my wife’s idea, we were tossing ideas back and forwards trying to come up with something that had a bit of quirkiness while at the same time sounding slightly old fashioned and established – to echo the style of our prints which are mostly based on vintage graphics.

2. Who inspires your artwork?

So many inspirations everywhere all the time! – as designers it’s hard to switch off and stop looking constantly at things around us!  I’d say however that the primary source of inspiration for Ink & Sons is our ever expanding collection of vintage and mid-century matchbox labels and packaging. Such fabulously rich and diverse illustration, typography and colours…

3. Where can people buy your personalised art work from?

We sell our personalised range through Not On The High Street – http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/inkandsons and we also have a small ever changing collection of art prints atwww.inkandsons.com

4. What’s the story behind the ‘Hen Night’ personalised posters?

The Personalised Hen Night Print was originally created for a friend as a one off gift, something we do quite often. It was very well received and commented on and so it made sense to try it out online. It’s now become one of our best selling items on Not On The High Street! You can now get the A4 size in a white wooden frame also with this bad boy!

5. Your pieces cost around £25 each. How important is it to create affordable art work for your brand?

Very important! We try to strike a balance between pricing to respect the time taken to design personalised orders individually while wanting as many people as possible to enjoy our prints – never an easy task but we get fantastic customer feedback so hopefully we’re getting that right!

So to get involved in all the fun and action, whether it be a gift or a cheeky treat for yourself, visit Not on The High Street to get your hands on some of these prints to brighten up yours or someone else’s day.
