OUT + ABOUT WITH KAZ: Suchef

July 15th, 2015 / Stephane

So, you’re hungry and it’s lunchtime in Chancery Lane. You’ll soon find that there is no shortage of places to eat—but one of the new kids on the block is Suchef, which positions itself as an eatery that offers a fresh, nutritious bite to your afternoon meal.

Suchef prides itself on its signature boxes, which offer any main (chicken or salmon being popular choices) with a side (basmati rice, egg noodles or the ubiquitous quinoa) and a sauce to provide a bit of a kick (think teriyaki or Japanese katsu curry). There are two guarantees with Suchef; the first being that you are sure to find a combination that satiates your afternoon craving, without feeling too overwhelmed with the choices on offer. The second is that you will leave feeling comfortably full, but not so full that you have been KO-ed by a food coma and are subsequently falling asleep at your desk.

For the particularly health conscious, there are also SuSalad boxes that are brought to life with either a salmon or chicken fillet. I would recommend the Roasted Vegetables Chicken Salad—it is not only pretty tasty (for often, salad and taste satisfaction can present themselves as two mutually exclusive ideas) but it is also filled with a surprising depth of textures. What is more, it leaves you feeling virtuous—like you have unequivocally done the right thing, both for your taste buds and your waistline. Suchef’s Homemade Lemonade is also worth a try; it is rather sweet, but refreshing nonetheless and without the wince-inducing tang that one can often get from homemade lemonades. If you prefer something a little less sugary, then a Super Green Smoothie (a kiwi, lime, spinach and cucumber combo) or Energy Booster (black carrot and pomegranate) may be better selections.

Suchef has a number of branches around London. If you fancy sampling their new breakfast menu, head over to their Farringdon establishment, where you can grab one of their healthy, hot options as you dash to your desk or first adventure of the morning.
