FESTIVE TREATS: LUSH COSMETICS

November 14th, 2013 / Stephane

Whether you’re looking for stocking fillers or just want to treat yourselves as we vastly approach this festive season, we were given some amazing products from Lush Cosmetics, that we think just might take your fancy!

1. UltraBland Facial Cleanser

I’m always on the hunt for a good cleanser. One that won’t have harsh alcohol or paraffin content that will damage my skin in the long run. So I was very excited to try the UltraBland Facial Cleanser. The name says it all really, and it certainly lives up to it. A rich, soft, oily cleansing cream that cares gently for all skin types. It not only cleans the skin but softens at the same time! Left my face feeling like a baby’s bottom. Based on an ancient beeswax and vegetable oil formula from the times of Galen, the Greek physician and philosopher, this product will lift dirt, grease and make up from the skin, without losing any of the skins natural defences. 100% natural ingredients which left my skin feeling moisturised and soft.

2. The Comforter

They didn’t call this the Comforter for nothing. It smells delicious and dolls its like bathing in Candyfloss!!! Just break off a small piece and pop it in the bath. If like me, you have a jacuzzi bath, you’ll be laughing in pink bubble paradise. This was my favourite product and left my skin smelling edible and feeling fresh. In a strange way, it’s both warming, comforting and reassuring. Lush said “We wanted a bath that gave the same sense of safety and calm that your favourite teddy, your comfort blanket or a snuggly scarf gives.” And that’s exactly how I would describe the bath I had with The Comforter! Snug as a pink rug!

3. Bubbly

I loved the bottle, very different in solution and packaging to my other lip goodies, but none the less I was excited to try out Bubbly, which comes out as a two-tone rose pink. This patent applied for recipe for the Liquid Lipsticks is a super softening base, which is a simple blend of organic jojoba oil, candelilla wax and rose wax. As well as being intensely skin-softening and soothing, the base also carries pigment incredibly well. I found this to be long lasting also on my lips and also a great Christmas colour too.

4. Honey I Washed The Kids

If you’re a fan of smelling sweet, then this honey toffee-scented soap is the one for you! It not only cleanses, but leaves you smelling delicious. Be careful to keep the bees away though!

6. Seanik

And finally, the Seanik shampoo bar with seaweed to soften and sea salt to give body. I was a little taken a back when applying this at first to my hair, but having built up a lather I was good to go. Its always a great feeling when using a new product and feeling like its actually working and healthy for your scalp too. This ocean-inspired bar is made with Irish moss and nori seaweed, which give a lovely mineral rich gel that softens the hair. I applied a conditioner after this to add extra nutrients to my hair.
