The minute I walked into The Refinery I was warmly greeted by the site manager who took my coat and bags and led me into the lounge area. Filled with magazines and with a selection of complimentary drinks before my appointment.
After waiting no more than a minute, I was promptly taken upstairs into the medium sized hall where I would have the 5 O’Clock Shadow treatment. This would involve a Traditional Wet Shave, An Eye Treatment and a Shampoo and Finish. The service lasts a duration of 75mins and this package is priced at £85.

I happened to get on very well with the barber, Yaseen. We happened to live and grew up in the same area. But aside from that, he was very friendly and I would highly recommend him. If you’ve never experienced a hot towel shave, it’s something you need to put on your hit list men. Luxury at it’s finest! The Eye Treatment consists of a hot towel wrapped around your face, allowing the pores to breathe and the face and hair to soften, readying itself for the shave. Once the sharp shave was completed, my head was leaned back into the basin for what was an extremely relaxing shampoo. (I’m a sucker for a head massage!) Some treatment oils were then put on my eyelids and underneath my eyes. This was bring them to life and stop me looking tired. Once my hair was dried and restyled, I felt like a new man, walking the streets of Mayfair with confidence!
