This is probably one of life’s most fundamental questions and we usually spend a lifetime trying to find the answer. But what if we finally understood that in fact the answer has never been hidden but is patiently waiting for us to step out of our comfort zones in boldness and embrace all the beauty that has been placed within our inner beings. The essence of the question addresses our identity which will consequently impact our purpose and how we pursue our destiny. Consciously making the decision to find out who you are will be time spent that your future self will thank you for and here are a few things to consider whilst on the journey…
The Soul Speaks
Take a step past what you can touch, see, hear, smell and even taste in the physical realm and begin to wrap your head around how deep and powerful you actually are. You are more than dust and bones; your Spirit reflects the image of God and He believes you are good and precious. Your soul encompasses your mind, heart, desires, dreams, character and emotions which all contribute to your identity. As strong as the soul is, please realise that it can be touched and it does feel which is why the discovery of your identity begins beyond your physical packaging.
Our Identity Can Be Moulded & Formed
Our identities were formed and moulded and can therefore be influenced by the information we expose it to. One of the biggest lies ever told is that we have little control over our identity because it is simply a sum of all our life experiences and surroundings. However, our main responsibility is to continue to reverence God for the great I AM that He is and in turn we will remain empowered to reform and transform who we are for His glory irrespective of the arrows and darts thrown our way.
Double Check Your Mirror
But how does this reformation and transformation happen? We become what we constantly look at and this is why it is so important that we edify our soul with the identity we want it to be come. So to put it plain and simply: our soul needs a mirror and the mirror is the Living Word!
It’s A Daily Duty
Without a mirror we tend to become ignorant and in the absence of the Creator’s words of life our soul becomes deprived and our identities slowly begin to mirror whatever we put in God’s place. This is why we need to remind ourselves of who we are on a daily basis. I’m sure a day doesn’t go by when you don’t look in the mirror and the same should go for the reaffirmation of your identity in the Father’s liberty and love. As you move from glory to glory by appearing before Him each day, you will be blessed with a renewed strength to co-create your amazing life story (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Adorn Yourself in Royalty
In this modern society it has never been so important to embrace your individuality. The journey of self-discovery should be unique and personal. You’ve been ordained as royalty in His Kingdom and no-one can do what you have been called to do in the way that you have been called to do. The journey is not one you take alone and a smile is put on your Father’s face with every step you take towards seeing yourself through His eyes. You are important to Him and He needs you to survive.
As a woman thinks in her heart so is she; so think words of beauty and you will be there…You are valuable and your worth is incomparable!
