FEATURE: The Decorum of A Queen

October 21st, 2014 / Stephane

Recently I’ve really been giving myself a hard time about where I am now, what I need to be doing what I shouldn’t have done to avoid heartache or wasted time. Little did I know such thoughts were not only taking its toil on me physically but gradually I realised my crown was starting to fall because my shoulders had begun to slouch, my head had dropped and my countenance was downcast – as is expected, because negative thoughts create a negative outlook.

Crowns, Rings, Robes & All Things Royal

Eyes to see beauty, strength to uphold a God-perspective on our image and self esteem as well as the boldness to remain confident and hopeful in the midst of uncertainty are the key three things the accuser tries to steal from us by quietly whispering those complete lies at times we are most vulnerable. You are a Queen and it would be a shame for you to be robbed of an inheritance that has always been rightfully yours. The Truth had to come in to dispel these false beliefs and this was ushered in through conversations with loved ones. Having uplifting people around really helped shift me back into my position of royalty, where I could sit fully unashamed and fully at liberty.

I revisited the popular story of the prodigal son in order to shine a new light on this Truth. Often times the focus is placed on the sin and wretched son who returned and we forget that the story didn’t end at the Glorious Cross. Rather the Father ran to His child as he approached and silenced any accusers and stone throwers that would try to get in there first and after three days of intense battle the Savior arose and rightfully reclaimed back everything that had been stolen on behalf of His sons and daughters. If that isn’t powerful love I don’t know what is. The story never ends with death, it doesn’t stop at the pigsty, but beauty comes in and replaces the ashes. The welcome that the Father showed His beloved child in the story of the prodigal son is a perfect reminder that we heirs of the Most High…

The Royal Robe

large-3

The first thing he received was a robe that signified righteousness. You have been redeemed and set apart. You are now in right standing with Christ. And this is a robe of righteousness that is not received by works; there isn’t anything more or less you can do to earn it. You qualify simply because He is the great I AM. At the very core, your heart is good and your Father yearns to adorn you in a beauty that reflects Him. Such a robe can’t go anywhere and everywhere. Keep your robe clean and your crown on because righteousness has been restored.

The Reclamation Ring

Ring

The second thing he received on his return was a ring. Now this ring would have had the family signet on it. Not only was this confirmation of who he belonged to and his family but it was also needed to sign declarations, pass new laws and claim his inheritance. Don’t sell yourself short or ever think you’re punching above your weight. You don’t serve yourself or anyone else any good by hiding your light. Who are you not to be great, awesome and a world changer? Just continue to speak what you seek until what you see lines up with what you have spoken. The season of striving is done and gone with, it’s time to thrive and start your divine recovery.

The Sturdy Sandals

Sandles

The final thing the son received were sandals. You were built to move, ascend and have dominion. In your industry, at home, amongst friends be sure to walk on paths undiscovered and set new standards. These sandals also represent stability and strength. There’s nothing more dangerous than standing still when you should be moving, so I encourage you to find your momentum in this transitional season. Stand in confidence and in hope in the One that has already ordained your path. Set your sails in anew direction, no longer hopelessly blown by the winds of impulse, feelings, circumstances, people pleasing or self-interest. Your Father’s embrace is secure and He is forever faithful.

Whatever colour your robe is, whatever size your ring is and whether you’re in sandals or heels remember to always walk in a manner worthy of the queenly calling. Keep your head up beautiful one we wouldn’t want your crown to slip now would we.
