When you think of Joan Collins—invariably, images of Dynasty, shoulder pads and 80s glamour come to mind. So it only seems right that she has stepped into the realm of luxury beauty products, daaahrrling. Her brand is called Timeless Beauty and it exists to empower women ‘to feel and be beautiful at any age’.
One such weapon in any woman’s beauty armoury is a good red lipstick. Timeless Beauty offers a few various shades, but I tried out DIVINE LIPS Lipstick Crystal, which is a deep, blood red that is perhaps best suited for night time glamour, more so than daytime adventures.
The lipstick is laced with moisture and so it will not dry out your lips. What is more, even after a day filled with plenty of eating and drinking—much of the colour from my first application was preserved, even after several hours. Make no mistake—this lipstick will make you feel fabulous. I would recommend keeping your eye make up fresh and light by keeping your eyelids bare and bringing the drama with your lashes—either with a good mascara or a pair of falsies for greater definition. You want to let your lips do all the talking with this shade.
What is more, its gold casing is everything. It is elegant and the packaging reflects Ms Collins’ love for all things Art Deco and Hollywood glam. At £18 a pop, this DIVINE LIPS Lipstick is certainly more on the luxury end but it deserves a space in your make up bag. It will probably be the best-dressed lipstick there too.
Similar compliments can be made about the NAIL LACQUER Evelyn (£13), which also looks like a glamour puss in its own right. Whilst I think you may find more appealing shades of pink elsewhere, you are not likely to find one as fly looking as this one.
