Purity and sincerity are the running themes throughout this album; a beautiful companion during your times of devotion and fellowship with Father. Some of us may be familiar with some of these hymns; but often our familiarity with these powerful songs causes us to glace over the words without pausing to absorb the strength, reassurance and truth behind every line; and this album excellently reignites that fire.
Many of the tracks (O How I Love Jesus; Love Lifted Me; Love, You Never Let Me Go) are intimate Love songs to God. They embody the amazing story of Christ’s love for us that we sometimes need reminding about. The acoustic, folk-inspired genre of the album means that the message can meet everyone, wherever they are and whatever their preferences maybe; encouraging a Spirit led worship experience.
The simple acoustic composition behind each song encourages the listener to go beyond the veil and into the deeper parts of fellowship with God. It definitely is a breath of fresh air to hear music that communicates the wonderful story of God’s love and pursuit for us; encouraging us to go back to the heart of worship as we strip back all the noise and obstacles that sometimes hold us back.
One of the key fundamentals of The Hymns Collective album is the Truth and the Word. Each song has been careful selected and compiled together to take you on a personal journey; with songs like Man of Sarrows and Bleeding Saviour, creating the perfect picture against a spotless, yet creative and inspirational musical background. This is one for your daily listening pleasure and I am definitely looking forward to hearing what the other sessions will have in store.
Out on 14th January The Hymns Collective: Session 1 will be available in Christian book and music stores and through all digital service providers including iTunes and Amazon so make sure you get out there and grab your copy!!
