ALBUM REVIEW: Soul Survivor, Kingdom Come

December 3rd, 2012 / Stephane

This album is a fearless, sacrificial offering full of the urgency felt for advancing God’s kingdom. It has a confidence that comes from a biblical grounding in spiritual authority. It is accessible, catchy and punchy. Sung with real passion these songs are sure to unleash vision and consolidate God’s promises in a powerful and profound way.

Many of the songs (Exalted One, You Are My Vision, Break Every Chain) have been interpreted from other worship bands or collectives that show the creativity and musicianship at work. There is a clear commitment to making worship fun, accessible and maintaining the profound, spiritual truths that were behind their composition.

The music and melodies are smooth and polished but not without passion. Forever Reign is a great example of how a simple tune can facilitate the raining down of God’s spirit. Just listening to it gives a glimpse of the inevitable passion that comes from singing it.

Break Every Chain unveils a simple truth that has the power to deliver freedom and adds a dramatic crescendo to the already commanding album. This adds a great contrast to the upbeat and infectious Go and the quiet, reflective tone of Spirit Rain Down.

Build Your Kingdom Here and You Are My Vision prove that good worship can be both relevant and contemporary whilst also being impacting, intentional and purposeful.

Another empowering album from Soul Survivor demonstrating, that they deserve their spot among the greatest worship leaders of our generation. This album is sure to inspire thousands and impact far beyond the 30 000, or so, that have already experienced this outpouring of exultation.
