Men are from another planet from you ladies right? Or at least we speak a different language. As a dude, I often don’t understand the female species but I do understand my own. Which is great for you ladies as I’m about to leak some trade secrets from the other side. In particular the answers to the question ‘What does a guy want in a woman?’ Let me guide you around the foreign territory of a guy’s mind and give you an early Christmas present called my top ‘5 Things A Man looks for in a Woman’ – from not just a guy but a Christian guy’s perspective. Ready?! Here we go…
5. A woman… who is beautiful!
Beauty is skin deep right? But a guy loves the beauty of a woman. He loves your hair, your eyes and the little touches you do with your endless wardrobe. But even deeper than that, contrary to popular opinion, a guy loves a woman who radiates from within . Don’t neglect your inner beauty as that is the one thing that time won’t fade away, but if you’re ugly inside you will be the unwanted pair of socks of the season…Ouch!
4. A woman…who respects herself !
As Aretha Franklin sang “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” a guy just loves a girl who respects herself . If he can push her boundaries and she caves in, then he thinks why should I value someone who doesn’t even value herself. Sista’s don’t be deceived in trying to do anything to please that man as you will be at the top of his returns list once January kicks in and he’s scouting for a better deal…
3. A woman…with a vision!
He loves your new hair do, digs those shoes and will even take you to see the Twilight movie he so isn’t into but he will get bored very quickly if you don’t have that little thing called ‘vision’ – not talking about a supernatural experience or discriminating against those with glasses – do you have a plan for your life? College, university, a career/life path as if your constantly writing New Year resolutions and not living it you might not be in his new year plans…
2. A woman…who is kind hearted!
Would you give him your last chocolate? Stand by the football pitch in the freezing cold cheering him on? Or remember his Mum’s birthday and buy her flowers? Whatever the situation, there’s nothing better to capture a man’s heart than kindness and a woman who thinks of others and the little things that make them smile. Men can be insecure and feel the whole world is against them, so it helps to know that his woman is in his corner even if no one else is… And finally….
1. A woman…who loves GOD!
Most important of all, a woman who puts GOD first is surely to be praised (Proverbs 31). If you have the other 4 and miss this one then you might as well sit this one out as a man who loves GOD will always put Him first and will expect the same of the lady in his life. There’s nothing more attractive than a woman who loves the Lord, not just sings in church but bases her decisions, values and her life on the scriptures and prayer. The plus side is if your praying the chances the right guy will come increases. Win-win right?
So there you have it, a few tips on what a Christian guy is looking for and won’t be finding these things under the mistletoe so don’t be left standing there this Christmas, be the present he keeps all year round.
