FEATURE: 10 Things She Wants for Christmas

December 6th, 2012 / Stephane

So it’s fast approaching the most wonderful time of the year! Pigs in blanket, mince pies on the ready and the season filled with family, friends and laughter! So it’s only right that a gal’ lines up the top ten items on her Christmas hitlist… Here goes dolls!!!

iPod touch (new generation)

This is probably the best Apple product yet, putting this mp3 player in a league of its own. With storage space of up to 64GB, it’ll take a long time to fill this ‘un up. It comes in four colours, including an exclusive Product Red edition. And as this is an Apple product, you can except nothing but the best. Handy as an update… or simply for stunting purposes. iPod touch 5th generation comes with not just the ability to play mp3s but also is packed with apps, wifi, an iSight camera and a four inch retina display; as well as the latest IOS6 software meaning that you also can enjoy Siri on the go. Apple have even introduced new style headphones (a common complain amongst customers) –and you can really feel the effect of it, so no need to go through the stress of changing your headphones every two months. Prices start from £169.

(Legit!)  Ugg boots

It’s okay, there’s no need to struggle with leaning uggs anymore. It looks like these shoes won’t be disappearing from fashion anytime soon as they’ve now become a staple part of the winter wardrobe for years now (along with gilets, etc.) So love them or hate them, uggs are here to stay. Even if you feel ‘but everyone has them…’ you can go for one of these colours I suppose… Starting prices vary…. Hunt around to get the best deal!

Vans

Vans are back in. They were once considered the shoe for emos/skaters but nope, these are an upgrade from the black Primark plimsolls (plus laces that match your top) circa 2009. I’ve even been tempted to ditch my Converse collection and start collecting Vans instead. A simple, versatile addition to any outfit as there are so many different colours/designs available. Prices can start as low as £30 but will vary on design.

Experience days

Presents shouldn’t just buy material things, they should be able to offer an experience. Ever looked at a reality show and felt jealous of their makeover? Well with this gift idea you don’t have to. Virgin Experience Days are offering a makeover day for two for less than £40. A photo shoot is included and you can collect a print for free J Other companies are available, of course.

SLR camera

I suppose if you’re inspired by the photoshoot you’d want a camera to keep up the work. SLR cameras generally offer the best quality at an affordable price – after all, it’s better to produce the real thing before. Prices start from about £200.

Stocking Fillings

I guess I’ll throw in the token bath stuffs that you get in secret santa hampers. Yes, you may groan at these but I know you love them really. And seeing as you can get these from as little as £4, it’s a nice stocking filler or secret santa gift to one of your mates. Plus who doesn’t love scented stuff?

RuckSack

Gotten into the term/semester and thought your bag can’t hack it anymore? With this backpack it’s almost impossible that you’ll run out of space for your laptop/books/folders. Plus the design is current and relevant. Prices start from £8 (Primark) and go all the way up…

Album

With the rise of mp3s and iTunes, purchasing albums are a rarity these days, in fact it’s normal to only receive an album at Christmas. It’s always nice to have the physical copy of the artist you love.

Gift Voucher

It has to be done really. It’s the most complained about Christmas gift but it’s the most practical… IF the right shop is chosen. You can never go wrong with ASOS or a MAC gift card, it will be appreciated in a time of need.

Homemade card

Cards are neglected these days, one glance to see if there’s money and they’re thrown away. A nice suggestion is to make a card. No cheating with Moonpig but handmade! Add pictures and private jokes for effect. This card won’t be pushed aside I can assure you.
